Since its founding in 1985, Emirates has received over 500 international awards for its unparalleled customer service.

The airline has experienced steady and dynamic growth, posting profits for 27 years. In the 2014-15 fiscal year, Emirates carried 49.3 million passengers with complete financial independence and no state backing, and posted a net profit of US$1.5 billion, with Emirates Group revenues increasing 10 percent to Dh96.5 billion (US$26.3 billion).

Emirates is headquartered in Dubai, one of the few cities in the world with an open skies policy, and operates alongside 150 other airlines on the basis of free and fair competition.

The airline's fleet of 238 wide-body aircraft, including 15 freighters, is one of the youngest in the skies. The airline plans to more than double its fleet by 2020. Emirates currently has 270 aircraft on its waiting list, valued at over $135 billion at list prices.

Emirates operates flights to 149 destinations in 81 countries across Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, the Far East and Australasia.
