100 meters from the metro

The Monopol Warszawski Association, together with the Warsaw Tourist Organization, as part of the Warsaw Is Trendy event on September 5 and 6, 2015, invited Warsaw residents to four walks from the previously prepared series of walks "100 meters from the metro". The walk under the working name "Unusual Praga" began on Saturday at 9 a.m. and here we can see a small number of participants. However, 3 subsequent walks set off exactly at 12 p.m. and enjoyed greater popularity.

Walking routes:

1. "Extraordinary Prague"
Start – Wileński Square with the dominant complex of railway buildings designed by Lalewicz and the church of St. Mary Magdalene. Then along Wileńska to the old New Praga to Inżynierska. There the Syrena cinema building (Inżynierska 4) and the old horse tram depot –Inżynierska 6, then the film street Mała, Konopacka, Stalowa, then the club area on 11 Listopada, then Ratuszowa and the Institute of Tele and Radio Engineering, then the oldest church in Praga, Our Lady of Loreto and the main Praga attraction – the ZOO and the recently revitalized Villa of the Żabiński family.

2. "Prague Scents – Flowers and Chocolate"
The National Stadium and the PKP Start station renovated for Euro 2012 on Sokola Street in front of the PKP station entrance. Further on Targowa with the place of the oldest Warsaw film studio, on Targowa the Stara Praga café wallpapered with old newspapers, further on Zamojskiego with the Powszechny Theatre and Grochowska. Next to Wedel in the building of the toll booth on Grochowska - a chocolate bar and a shop for those with a sweet tooth. Further on Wedel Street next to the Church of Our Lady of Victory and Stanisław August Street to Skaryszewski Park ending in a mini café with homemade cakes and dumplings "Misianka".

3. "Unknown green city - a walk along the Warsaw Escarpment"
A visit to the green and rarely seen City Centre. Nowy Świat Metro Station, University, Holy Cross Church, Traugutta Street, Powstańców Warszawy Square, Górskiego Street, Nowy Świat Street, Foksal Street, Ordynacka Street, Chopin Museum.

4. "Discovering the Will"
Start: metro entrance at Rondo, then we will go to the Monument to the Evacuation of the Ghetto Fighters, Prosta Street 51, Polfy Plant (formerly Mgr Klawe) – corner of Karolowa Street and Kasprzaka Street, Mural on the former factory building, corner of Hrubieszowska and Karolakowa Street, former S.Kubiak Roller Chain Factory, Hrubieszowska Street 9, Kuryłowicz Square and Wola Center, Przyokopowa Street 33, Warsaw Uprising Museum, Grzybowska Street 79.

The project entitled "100 meters from the metro" is not only about walks that were prepared for the inauguration of the metro, it is a larger project that was created together with the Warsaw Tourist Organization.
