Appeal of the Warsaw Tourist Organization to Minister Andrzej Gut-Mostowy

We present a letter from the board of the Warsaw Tourist Organization addressed to Minister Andrzej Gut-Mostowy regarding:

– the need to correct media messages that are harmful to the tourism and MICE industry,

We have been observing with great concern the way in which incidents of social lack of sanitary responsibility have been reported in the media in recent days. These situations, however reprehensible and condemnable, are, however, individual and isolated events on a national scale. We are afraid that in the face of a temporary increase in infections, excessive media concentration on the aforementioned incidents may result in difficult government decisions for the tourism and MICE industry to introduce further, rigorous restrictions.

– the need to unfreeze business traffic in and to Poland.

Therefore, first of all, we would like to appeal to the Minister to consider introducing in Poland a situation analogous to that which applies in most Western European countries – taking the business travel segment outside the scope of prohibitions and restrictions. This is not only relatively safe, but at this stage of the economic collapse it is also one of the few effective methods of supporting the hotel industry.
