Belvedere Catering by Design supports healthcare during COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing number of infections, the need to provide patients with constant, specialist healthcare by medical services at an unpredictable time, and the identified huge needs of medical service personnel, Polpharma SA, Belvedere Catering by Design and Herbapol Lublin decided to launch the "Support for Healthcare" project, which involves delivering meals daily to those fighting for our health and lives on the front line.

The program was implemented on March 20, 2020. As part of the project, Polpharma, Belvedere, and Herbapol are providing regenerative meals along with juices and teas for doctors, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, and medical personnel, thus expressing great appreciation for their commitment and heroism. Within a month, 20,000 full-value dinners were delivered to facilities, which is nearly 700 portions per day. Due to the huge needs of the health service, the program will be continued. In total, almost 40,000 meals will be delivered.

"We are all facing a difficult situation related to the coronavirus pandemic. The healthcare service currently plays a key role, fighting for our health and often our lives every day. We are aware of the difficult conditions in which this battle is fought - with limited contact with loved ones, no time for a moment of respite. Therefore, without hesitation, we joined the initiative of Mr. Jerzy Starak, the owner of Polpharma, related to the daily delivery of regenerative meals to medical points. The meals developed in cooperation with a dietician are composed of the highest quality products and diversified in terms of taste and nutritional value. Through our help, we want to not only support, but also express our admiration for our main heroes. – says Artur Zymerman, CEO of the Belvedere Group.

The dinners will be prepared using 8 tons of high-protein products, 10 tons of vegetables and starch additives. All the products included in the meals come from local suppliers that Belvedere works with on a daily basis.

Meals are prepared by 25 chefs while maintaining the highest quality standards, in accordance with the guidelines of the State Sanitary Inspectorate and WHO recommendations regarding maintaining special hygiene. Chefs work in disposable latex gloves, masks and special protective clothing.

The program covers 11 medical centers in Warsaw.
