Certification for hotels and accommodation facilities

On May 6, the Ministry of Development, in cooperation with the Polish Tourism Organisation, organised a video chat during which information was provided about the plan to introduce certification of accommodation facilities.

Certification is to be free and voluntary and will take place in two stages:

1. self-certification and verification by POT
2. verification in cooperation with ROTs and LOTs or other entities, if LOT is unable to carry out verification. In the event that the verified object is a member of LOT or ROT, it will be verified by a person from POT.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that the Warsaw Organization has submitted the following comments to the POT:

1. taking into account the responsibility for confirming the status of the reported facility (which was assigned to ROT and LOT), it was noted that the selection of people auditing the facilities should take into account competent staff in this matter - the presentation mentions training.
2. hotels are still closed because the GIS guidelines for restaurants are not known, which should affect the timing of sending out the surveys.
3. some hotels will take into account the certificate prepared for chain hotels.
