Polish Days at the Open-Air Museum

Nov 6, 2018

On the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, on September 15-16, the Stockholm Skansen Museum hosted Polish Days. The event was organized by the Polish Embassy, the Polish Institute and the Polish Tourism Organization in Stockholm. Polish Days were a family event, during which invited guests, as well as tourists visiting the Skansen, had the opportunity to learn about Polish history, culture, art and cuisine. The Polish Days were attended by approx. 30 exhibitors from Poland and the Swedish Polish community, who presented regional artistic handicrafts, tourist offers, flavors of Poland, and also conducted workshops for all interested parties. Warsaw was represented by Magdalena Ziółkowska, designer, brand founder Jewelry from plates.

Additionally, POT organized competition, in which the prizes included, among others: weekend stays in Poland and other attractive prizes. We thank the hotel Bristol and Westin for providing weekend vouchers in Warsaw.

According to information received from the Open-Air Museum, the number of visitors exceeded 6,000 and was twice as high as average. The high turnout is largely the result of an information campaign conducted earlier, including in the Stockholm metro, and promotion of the event on social media.
