#CityWillWait campaign awarded in the Good Practices Competition

The #CityWillWait urban tourism campaign, in which Warsaw participated together with 12 other cities at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, was recognized in the Good Practices Competition in the Culture and Tourism category as part of the Lublin 2020 Cross-Border Cooperation Congress.

This year's edition of the competition, aimed at promoting the most effective solutions implemented to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, was addressed to local governments, representatives of culture and tourism, education, social assistance and entrepreneurship. The organizers received proposals of 49 practices from the Palestinian Authority, Georgia, Spain, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine, from which the Competition Committee selected 3 winners in each category.

In the Culture and Tourism category, solutions were assessed to support both sectors, which aimed to enable the continuation of business in the industry, adapting it to new circumstances. The Competition Committee noted the value of the #CityWillWait campaign in maintaining interest in traveling among domestic and foreign tourists during quarantine, supporting the local city tourism industry and mutual promotion of products of 13 cities participating in the campaign. The campaign was also promoted by Foreign Centers of the Polish Tourist Organization.
