Nuclear Inter Jura 2024 Congress in Warsaw
Nuclear Inter Jura 2024: "Renaissance of new nuclear projects - in search of new approaches to legal challenges and regulatory effectiveness"
On November 3-7, 2024, the 25th edition of the cyclical congress of the INLA (International Nuclear Law Association) will be held in Warsaw. It has become a leading international event gathering representatives of public administration, regulatory authorities, organizations, nuclear energy specialists, lawyers, scientists and other people involved in nuclear law.
The aim of the Congress is to promote research on legal issues related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and to encourage the exchange of information in this area. The substantive axis of the event focuses on issues such as: nuclear safety, environmental protection law, civil liability for nuclear damage and insurance in the nuclear energy sector, radiological protection and radioactive waste management, financing new projects, physical protection of nuclear facilities and transport of materials.
This year, Nuclear Inter Jura will be held in Poland for the first time, and its co-organizer is the Lower Silesian Institute for Energy Studies (DISE). The event is a chance to attract the attention of companies from many sectors, providing services to the nuclear industry, potential investors and employers for the domestic market, as well as building a domestic supply chain. It is also a chance to stimulate the development of science, education, organization and necessary staff in an interdisciplinary dimension.
Discussion on the best solutions for the nuclear sector is particularly important in the era of urgent energy transformation and the Polish nuclear energy program, which is to be a long-term guarantor of energy security and system stabilization. The upcoming "Nuclear Inter Jura" Congress may play a special role in the context of preparing national entities and institutions to perform tasks under this program. Implementation of energy transformation plans is not possible without effective international cooperation, business partnership, stable financing mechanisms, training of specialized staff and social acceptance of nuclear projects.
