Consultations on the draft document Tourism Policy of the Capital City of Warsaw
Of the day June 25, 2019 year in Museum of Warsaw's Praga an open meeting was held as part of the public consultation on the draft document "Tourism policy of the capital city of Warsaw” developed by the Warsaw Tourism Office.
During the event, Dr. Maria Schicht, deputy director of the Warsaw Tourism Office, presented the assumptions of the document, including the main directions of the policy. A significant change in the approach to tourism is the assumption that it should positively affect the quality of life of residents.
Then, an exciting, nearly two-hour discussion took place, in which residents and representatives of the Capital City of Warsaw, the tourism industry (including city guides) and the academic community took part.
The participants discussed tourism in the districts, creating new tourism products, availability of information about events in the city, safety, noise, ecological transport and tourism management and overtourism.
The debaters approved the presented directions of tourism policy. They also agreed that tourism should serve to improve the quality of life of the local community, build social capital and increase the innovativeness of the capital. Particular attention was paid to issues related to the way of implementing the policy.
All postulates and proposals for specific actions submitted at the meeting will be forwarded to the offices that will create programs for the operational goals of the #Warszawa2030 Strategy.
