Don't give up on your trip - Choose a voucher!

The Polish Tourism Organisation has just announced the “Choose a voucher” campaign. It involves entities from the tourism industry offering vouchers for future use in exchange for events, accommodation and other tourist services cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the slogan “Change the date – don’t give up!” consumers are encouraged to use vouchers that will be valid for 1 year from the purchased service. It will also be possible to change the location of trips. The Polish Tourist Organisation reminds: “Poland is beautiful and will wait for you!”

The voucher is incredibly easy to use. Just ask the tour operator, hotel or tourist attraction about the possibility of exchanging your reservation for a voucher, valid for a year from the date the service was supposed to start. Its value cannot be lower than the costs incurred by the customer so far.

The tourism industry needs support and solidarity at this time. Help for Polish entrepreneurs and their employees is invaluable now. The pandemic has caused hoteliers, agritourism hosts, carriers, travel agencies and guides to lose their source of income overnight. The campaign is to make consumers aware that their future now depends on us and whether there will be someone to take care of us during our next vacation or business trip.

Vouchers may be issued by entrepreneurs organising, for example:

• tourist events,
• hotel services,
• guide services,
• tour guide services,
• exhibitions and congresses,
• cultural activities (e.g. cinemas, theatres, museums),
• entertainment activities, e.g. concerts,
• recreational and sports activities,
• thematic exhibitions or outdoor events.

A voucher issued for a tourist event is completely safe because it is guaranteed by a security system in the event of insolvency.
