Discover Warsaw with Maria
In the context of her 155th birthday, we invite you to a walk with Maria Skłodowska-Curie!
Maria was born on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw in an 18th-century tenement house in the New Town, at 16 Freta Street. She was the youngest of five children of Bronisława and Władysław Skłodowski.
We owe the discovery of two radioactive elements – polonium and radium – to this brilliant scientist. These discoveries laid the foundations for the development of modern oncology and research on radioactive elements.. Currently, the tenement house houses the only biographical museum in the world Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw
Come join us on a wonderful adventure through time!
