Tourism policy of the capital city of Warsaw
Necessity creation of a tourism policy We therefore consider it an expression of responsibility that results from our role. We feel obliged to set the trend, i.e. to define the directional development framework in relation to the functioning of tourism and the city's tourism marketing. We also want to propose values and directions that we will follow when making decisions and taking actions related to tourism. We will also encourage our partners from the public, private and social spheres to do the same. We do not refer to all the detailed issues related to tourism, but to the basic and priority issues. We also take into account the impact of the pandemic, which paralyzed tourist traffic worldwide in 2020. Our goal is to ensure the lasting and sustainable development of tourism in Warsaw, its socio-economic and spatial coherence with other functions of the city, as well as to increase Warsaw's competitiveness on the European tourism market – wrote Warsaw local government officials.
By signing this document city authorities have shown that they have in relation to tourism a precisely developed plan.
"Tourism Policy" develops in the field of tourism the values contained in Strategy #Warszawa2030 and its vision, respecting and using the development potentials identified therein, and the directions written in the “Tourism Policy” are coupled with the dimensions of the vision of Warsaw in 2030:
- active residents,
- friendly place,
- open metropolis.
