Poland is winning the hearts of tourists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia
On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in the ballroom of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Prague, 60 Czech tour operators (!) and journalists took part in the inauguration of the Polish "Roadshow 2023".
The next meetings for professionals from the tourism industry will take place today (March 22) in Brno and tomorrow (March 23) in Ostrava. The next stage is workshops on the Slovak market in Bratislava and Košice. These will take place next week.
We are present at this event and promote the Warsaw city break in the context of Warsaw's European Best Destination 2023 title.
The prizes in the lottery held during the event were funded by our members, the NOBU hotel and Ibis Stare Miasto.
The “Roadshow” programme includes the promotion of the diverse offer of Polish regions, including local gastronomy, a presentation of the offer of LOT Polish Airlines and their partners, as well as a presentation of the newly established Prague office of the Polish Tourist Organisation, which covers the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The Polish Ambassador to Prague, Mateusz Gniazdowski, opened the event and emphasized that "at a time when Poland is becoming one of the most interesting destinations for Czech and Slovak tourists for many reasons, we are pleased to support such meetings, for which the doors of our Embassy will always be open."
The words of the Polish Ambassador were complemented by the director of PLL LOT, Jolanta Grala-Bednárčik, who noted that "After the pandemic, we are experiencing a real boom in air traffic to Poland, but also to other countries served by LOT. We currently operate 32 flights a week from Prague and 5 flights from Ostrava to Warsaw, as well as to other places in Poland, Europe, Asia and North America. The recent unprecedented victory of Warsaw in the prestigious "Best European Destination" vote shows that the capital of Poland is not only a business destination, but is also becoming an attractive tourist destination„"„
The Polish Tourist Organisation, which is the equivalent of the Czech tourism agency, opened its Prague office three months ago.
Her plan for this year is more than ambitious. "We know what Czech and Slovak tourists in Poland are asking about, so we are preparing several campaigns until the end of the year that will try to answer these questions as best as possible. Whether it is about popular SPA and wellness places and hotels in the Polish mountains, information about interesting places on the way to the Baltic Sea and seaside resorts, or delicious and very diverse Polish regional gastronomy.”, says Pavel Trojan, director of the POT office.
There is nothing left for us to do but strongly support and cheer on the director's actions!
The second part of the road show organized by the Foreign Center of the Polish Tourist Organization takes place on March 28 and 29, 2023 in Slovakia.
The meeting with the industry and journalists, which took place in an extremely cordial atmosphere, took place at the Polish Institute in Bratislava.
After presenting the regions of Silesia, Lower Silesia and Małopolska, we presented the attractions of y – the best European tourist destination of 2023.
Together with the director of the Polish Institute, Piotr Dworak, we also opened an exhibition about Warsaw, which will be displayed in the Institute's windows for the coming weeks.
Arrivals from the Czech and Slovak markets have always impressed in visitor statistics, but there has been a lack of ideas for managing tourists. For several years, the border regions, as well as the Pomeranian and West Pomeranian regions, have been successfully promoting themselves on these markets.
Warsaw enjoys great interest among the Czechs and extraordinary sympathy among the Slovaks.
