POT and WOT promote Warsaw in Sweden
On October 5, 2015, a promotional campaign for Warsaw on the Swedish market will be launched, conducted by the Warsaw Tourist Organization in cooperation with the Foreign Center of the Polish Tourist Organization in Stockholm.
The idea of joint promotional activities was born from the trend observed in Nordic countries, where there is a strong tradition of meetings with colleagues from work before the celebrations of Christmas and New Year and pre-holiday shopping at Christmas markets. Such activities are now being eagerly transferred to foreign markets and joint pre-holiday trips are being organized to destinations offering attractions during this period. This fits perfectly into the project of the Warsaw Tourist Organization - Warsaw City Break, which aims to promote Warsaw abroad and extend the tourist season. The Christmas campaign is continuation of WOT's previous activities on the Swedish and UK markets conducted from June to August this year.
Four-week online banner campaign supporting the competition "Win a weekend in Christmas Warsaw" will be conducted on inspirational and tourist portals. The banners will refer to the competition subpage on the POT website, where, in addition to questions and regulations, the user will also find the most interesting information about the holiday season in the capital of Poland, including Christmas fairs, winter sports activities, and holiday illuminations. An important element of the campaign is the website www.warsawcitybreak.com with a constantly updated calendar of events, currently available in two language versions - English and Swedish. The campaign will be continued publication of the Warsaw City Break advertisement in the November issue of Scandinavian Traveler – the in-flight magazine of the Scandinavian airline SAS.
The campaign is financed from the budget of ZOPOT in Stockholm and from contributions from WOT members. The prizes in the competition were funded by the hotels: Bristol, Intercontinental and Sofitel, tour operators WarsawPass, Adventure Warsaw and Eat Warsaw, and Warsaw design producers Warsaw to the Thing.
