Premiere of the Yellow Guide Gault&Millau 2020

On Monday, November 25, the Premiere Gala of the 6th edition of the Yellow Guide Gault&Millau took place, along with the presentation of awards to the best chefs in Poland. The event took place at the Warsaw Expo XXI trade fair and exhibition center, where several hundred guests gathered, including the best chefs from all over Poland.

Mark Gault & Millau With almost 60 years of tradition, it is present in 25 countries around the world. The mission of the Guide is to promote the best chefs and the restaurants they create. Culinary culture and gastronomy are not only the best showcase of the regions, but also the main magnet attracting tourist traffic. The ceremonial premiere galas of the Yellow Guide attract hundreds of the best chefs in Poland and crowds of journalists and are organized in a different city every year. The organizers want to show both Poles and tourists the most dynamically developing regions of our country along with their rich culinary culture. So far, the event has been hosted in Gdańsk, Łódź and Kraków. Due to the enormous dynamics and development of the restaurant industry and the constant increase in the number of restaurants distinguished by Gault&Millau Poland, the natural choice for the next Premiere Gala of the guide was once again Warsaw. The Warsaw Tourist Organization was a partner of the event.

This year's edition of the publication is the first edition in which only reviews of restaurants with the highest markings were printed, i.e. those that received at least 11 out of 20 possible points. After exceeding this limit, establishments receive from 1 to 5 additional hats. The more hats, the better the assessment of professionals from Gault&Millau. Warsaw reigns supreme in this ranking - over 120 Warsaw restaurants were awarded chef's hats.

We are very pleased that our member restaurants were among the restaurants with the highest designations: Belvedere, Brasserie Warszawska, Chianti, Kieliszki na Próżnej, Kieliszki na Hożej, Prime Cut and Opasły Tom, which also received an award for Flavia Borawska - she received the title of "Woman Chef 2020". In the other awarded categories, the following were distinguished: Rafał Kowalczyk from Warsaw's Stary Dom (Chef of Traditional Cuisine), Rafał Grzegorzek (Young Talent), Łukasz Budzik from Sopot's Menniczy Fusion (Chef of Tomorrow). The chef of the year was Dariusz Barański from Restauracja Warszawska located in the Warszawa hotel.

Congratulations!
