IBTM World Show in Barcelona

On November 19-21, 2019, we had the opportunity to participate in the fair once again. IBTM World Show in Barcelona.

The Warsaw Convention Bureau stand, together with 10 other exhibitors, was part of the Polish national stand organized by the Polish Tourism Organization. Among them were 3 members of the Warsaw Tourism Organization: LOT Polish Airlines, Mazurkas DMC Poland and Hotel Narvil Conference & Spa. Other exhibitors included convention bureaux from Kraków, Łódź and the Lublin province, Expo Kraków PCO & DMC, ICE Kraków Congress Centre, Jan-Pol DMC Poland and Bukovina Resort.

Our presence at IBTM this year was additionally supported by Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization, thanks to which visitors to the stand had the opportunity to also familiarize themselves with conference facilities located outside Warsaw.

On the second day of the fair, the Polish Tourism Organisation once again organised a networking event, during which foreign meeting planners had the opportunity to establish contacts with Polish MICE service providers, as well as take part in a lottery of prizes provided by some exhibitors and our members, such as flights to Poland and hotel accommodation.

As a member of ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), we once again took part in the convention bureaux meeting with association representatives – Association Connect.

During the fair itself, we held around 40 planned and around 15 unscheduled meetings with representatives of incentive agencies and organizers of meetings for corporate and association clients. The interest in the Warsaw stand was visible, and many visitors already had very specific questions about the possibilities of organizing their events in our city. The IBTM fair in Barcelona, similarly to IMEX in Frankfurt, is one of the most popular in the meetings industry, and thanks to regular promotion during its duration, Warsaw is becoming an increasingly important and attractive destination for MICE events.
