Tourist Metropolises join forces
Tourism organizations representing metropolitan cities in Poland have signed a cooperation agreement for the development of urban tourism. From now on, they will speak together on many issues.
Gdańsk, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Poznań, Warsaw and Wrocław – these seven metropolitan Local Tourism Organisations have decided to closely cooperate for the sustainable development of urban tourism. The agreement was signed by the presidents of tourist organisations during the POT-ROT-LOT Forum in Arłamów on 22 October 2024. The document includes provisions on strengthening the image of Polish cities on the international stage and increasing the attractiveness of their tourist offer.
As part of the cooperation, the organizations have committed to implementing joint promotional campaigns, participating in international fairs and organizing events aimed at promoting cities. The agreement also assumes regular exchange of tourism data and analyses, partnership and subject cooperation with the Polish Tourism Organization, as well as support in the implementation of projects financed from national and European funds.
Joint activities will also include educational initiatives aimed at employees of the tourism industry, aimed at improving their professional competences and promoting best practices. The agreement was concluded for an indefinite period, which emphasizes the long-term commitment of the parties to cooperation for the dynamic development of urban tourism in Poland.
