Warsaw CvB took part in a video chat with Minister Gut-Mostowy

Today, the Warsaw Convention Bureau WOT took part in a video chat with Minister Andrzej Gut-Mostowy on the situation in the MICE industry due to the crisis. We presented two very important reasons why new support tools for entrepreneurs in this industry should be introduced at all costs:
  • saving hundreds of thousands of jobs and maintaining the industry's significant contribution to Polish GDP
  • the function of the MICE industry in the scientific and economic development of the country (knowledge transfer, attracting investors, acquiring talents and internationalization of Polish enterprises)
During the conversation, we also recalled that Warsaw CvB is currently acquiring 123 events for the years 2020-2026, with a total value of accommodation exceeding PLN 263,000,000 (details here), which have the potential to fuel the economy if only the industry can survive the most difficult period.

The Minister confirmed his awareness of these conditions and announced a further fight for the extension of protection offered by the anti-crisis act. We will keep you informed about the development of the situation and new decisions of the Ministry of Development and the government of the Republic of Poland.
