Warsaw ready for new openings

Both the tourism industry, tourists and Varsovians were eagerly awaiting the opening of several new Warsaw facilities. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic thwarted these plans and postponed them. Now Warsaw is ready. Long-awaited hotel facilities, giving hope for a new dimension of events, as well as new attractions on the tourist map of Warsaw, can finally open.

Warsaw has been ranked 7th on the list of the world's most developing markets, becoming a new important place on the map of Central and Central-Eastern Europe in the area of business, art, design and cuisine, as well as alternative multi-day cultural trips. Poland, in turn, has recently become the center of attention of the global community due to the rapid closure of borders in connection with the coronavirus, which has allowed it to become one of the countries in Europe least affected by the pandemic. As we reported recently, according to the American magazine Forbes, Warsaw was ranked among the safest places in Europe that we can visit this summer. At the same time, from July 1, LOT Polish Airlines resumed regular international passenger flights. Warsaw is ready to welcome the first international tourists, and the long-announced facilities can finally inaugurate their operations and prepare for the autumn season of events and conferences. We are lifting the veil of secrecy about new hotel facilities and event venues in Warsaw.

Elektrownia Powiśle

The Powiśle Power Plant was opened in May this year. It is a unique place on the map of Warsaw, where history meets modernity. The building of the former power plant is located in the heart of green Powiśle, which has inspired the entire city for years. The Copernicus Science Centre, the University Library, the Museum of Modern Art and the Vistula boulevards make it the centre of the cultural and entertainment life of the capital.

Elektrownia Powiśle offers over 70 stores, 32 gastronomic concepts, including cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as an innovative Beauty Hall space dedicated to beauty and care. The multifunctional Elektrownia Powiśle project also includes three class A office buildings, luxury apartments for rent and a 4-star boutique hotel Barceló, which is scheduled to open in 2021.

Elektrownia Powiśle is a perfect place to organize a multimedia conference, interactive training, elegant banquet or unforgettable special event. Combining historic spaces and elements of the equipment of the former power plant with completely new architecture allowed to preserve the industrial character of the place and give it a unique style. Thanks to this, it was possible to create a harmonious space that is ideal for work and relaxation.

The unique location, proximity to the center of Warsaw and convenient access by public transport make Elektrownia Powiśle accessible quickly and easily from any point in the city. The multifunctional nature of the project, combining a number of functions, makes Elektrownia Powiśle a practically self-sufficient place, and its unique architecture can be an inspiration for many events.

Nobu Hotel Warsaw

Nobu Hotel Warsaw opens its doors on August 3, 2020. It will be the first hotel of the group Nobu Hospitality in Poland, and the 12th hotel and 43rd restaurant of this luxury lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert de Niro and Meir Teper in the world. The hotel will have 117 elegant and spacious rooms, an intelligently designed space for organizing meetings and events, a large fitness club and the iconic Nobu Restaurant & Café.

Nobu Hotel Warsaw, the first truly designer hotel in the city, consists of two wings – the “classic” one, located in the former Art Deco Rialto Hotel, which dates back to the 1920s, the interwar period, and the “modern” one, the result of the intercontinental collaboration between the Polish architectural firm Medusa Group and the Californian Studio PCH. Respecting the history and unwavering spirit of the city, the result of the collaboration between the two companies tells the story of today’s Warsaw – open, modern and diverse. The rooms are decorated in various styles, from classic to ultra-modern, referring to the dynamic development of Poland, allowing guests to choose one that perfectly suits their tastes. However, each of them exudes calm with a touch of Japanese design. Those located in the modern wing are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, thanks to which they offer a wonderful view of the city panorama or the surrounding area. Modern works by Polish artists from the Jankilevitsch Collection can be found in all common areas of the hotel.

As in other Nobu hotels around the world, Nobu Hotel Warsaw will feature the signature Nobu Restaurant & Café run by chef Yannick Lohou, who will come to Warsaw directly from Nobu Hotel Barcelona. Its opening is scheduled for July 17, 2020. The Nobu restaurant concept is based on chef Nobu’s innovative cuisine, characterized by the use of high-quality products, as well as unique colors and textures – it is classic Japanese cuisine created with ingredients from South America. The menu will consist of such Nobu classics as Toro Tartare with Caviar and Beef Toban-Yaki, as well as Nobu Now – dishes inspired by Polish cuisine composed by chef Yannick Lohou and created based on fresh, local products, which will certainly raise the bar on the culinary scene of the capital. Due to its location near the vibrant Hala Koszyki, the hotel is located in the center of a district that is quickly becoming the culinary heart of Warsaw.

The hotel’s 438m² flexible event space on the first floor offers a stylish setting for large conferences and meetings. It can be divided into two fully self-contained rooms separated by a movable, soundproof wall – the 266m² Sakura room and the 171m² Hikari room. The crushed glass walls allow for plenty of natural light, while a separate lobby with terrace provides complete privacy. Additional meeting rooms are also located on the same floor – all equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. These can be used in conjunction with a full range of services to choose from, including planning, catering, and business services and technology, including Wi-Fi and audiovisual equipment.

The health and safety of guests and employees is a priority for Nobu Hotel Warsaw. The hotel's design is distinguished by luxury and simplicity, and also allows the hotel to open after the peak of the pandemic thanks to carefully developed rules of stay, including the rules of use of the restaurant part. Safety and hygiene will be the most important. Hotel employees will perform their work in a way that will minimize contact between staff and guests, both in the hotel itself and in the restaurant. The preventive measures that the hotel has taken include remote check-in to limit direct interaction and shorten waiting times, access to private elevators, the option of eating meals in rooms delivered by the staff to the door, as well as introducing a limit on the number of people using the restaurant and cafe, which will allow for maintaining safe distances between hotel guests. Rooms and common areas will be disinfected after check-out using UV light, and guests will have access to disposable gloves and disinfectants placed around the hotel. Every employee will wear a mask and gloves - they will also be available to guests. In response to the ever-changing global situation, the hotel’s booking and cancellation policy will be flexible, risk-free and allow guests to make reservations with confidence.

One night's B&B rates at Nobu Hotel Warsaw start from €199 per room.
