Warsaw on the World Stage: ITB Berlin Facing Tourism Challenges
At the recently concluded ITB trade fair in Berlin, which is considered one of the most important events in the tourism industry, our organization was also present at the national stand (prepared by POT) in cooperation with the Masovian Regional Tourism Organization. This year's edition of the fair, held on March 5-7, focused on key topics such as the growing importance of artificial intelligence in tourism, staffing challenges in the sector and the inevitable issues of climate change.
Our organization used this international platform to present the attractiveness of the Polish capital as a travel destination. In light of the growing challenges posed by modern tourism, the Warsaw representation (WOT and SBT) also emphasized the importance of innovative solutions and sustainable development of the city in the context of meeting the needs of modern tourists.
The ITB trade fair attracted almost 100,000 people this year, with over 5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries taking part. Despite the global challenges facing the travel industry, the mood among attendees was overwhelmingly positive. There was a mixed message that the desire to travel remains strong and is not discouraged by the current economic difficulties.
In addition, the ITB congress took place in parallel to the fair, where current trends and innovations in tourism were discussed in almost 200 sessions. The sessions devoted to artificial intelligence enjoyed great interest, emphasizing its growing importance in the industry.
By presenting the potential of the city and the offer of our members, we managed to establish valuable contacts, which we hope will help to increase the number of tourists visiting the capital of Poland. This event was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices, which we will want to use to further promote Warsaw as a friendly, green and culturally rich place on the map of tourist cities.
