Warsaw once again appreciated in the Eco-City 2024 competition!

Warsaw triumphed in this year's edition of the Eco-City competition, winning awards in three out of five categories: energy efficiency, green-blue infrastructure and sustainable mobility for cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants. Additionally, the capital received two special awards from Nhood Services Poland and Renault Polska. These awards are further proof that the capital of Poland is consistently implementing a sustainable development policy, promoting climate action, environmental protection and ecological transport.

In the energy efficiency category, Warsaw was recognized for its efforts to modernize buildings and its subsidy program for replacing outdated furnaces. The capital is also gradually implementing green and blue infrastructure projects, such as the Szuwar warszawski program, which supports the protection of local water ecosystems and biodiversity. The award in the sustainable mobility category was given for the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge, opened this spring, which is part of the "New Center of Warsaw" project.

The Eco-City competition, organised since 2013, promotes the idea of sustainable urban development, motivating local governments to take action to protect the environment in various areas of urban management.
