Warsaw in the Michelin Guide
Warsaw's culinary scene has always been dynamic, diverse and incredibly creative. This creativity was particularly visible during the pandemic. Fortunately, we have that time behind us, and our city's culinary scene has been reborn with exceptional intensity.
There are many associations with typical Warsaw dishes: pyzy, Warsaw-style herring, tripe and, for dessert, WZ-etka.
It is not the dishes themselves that are worth talking about, however. Warsaw's culinary scene is characterised by its extraordinary diversity, which refers to three elements: Places – some of which are extremely iconic; Products – the care that restaurateurs take of the best suppliers; People – the creators and artists of Warsaw gastronomy.
We have been promoting Warsaw's culinary scene for a long time, on a scale we could afford. We talk about it in our advertising materials, social media, and also thanks to the support of the Polish Tourism Organization during joint study tours. We support events that promote local restaurateurs and their ventures.
We systematically talk about places where it is simply appropriate or necessary to visit, and we will continue to do so by looking for new ways to reach domestic and foreign consumers.
Cooperation with the Michelin Guide opens a new chapter in building an even stronger brand for our city – both gastronomic and culinary.
It will certainly increase tourists’ awareness of the quality of Warsaw’s offer and further emphasize the importance of cities for the development of inbound tourism to Poland.
For Warsaw, this is another image enhancement this year. The title of the best tourist destination and CNN's recommendation on the one hand, and now the chance for decisions by Michelin guide inspectors and awarded stars will be of great importance in strengthening interest in the destination that is our city.
