ANTOR 2022 Workshops in Norway

On 29.08-31.08.2022, we once again took part in regional workshops for the Norwegian industry ANTOR Norway. The workshops are organized by the company ASB Consult, the organizer of events such as TravelMatch in Oslo, in which we also plan to participate in January 2023. This year, we performed at ANTOR together with the POT Foreign Center in Stockholm, and representatives of Sopot and the Krakow office of Jan-Pol were also present.

This year's ANTOR meetings were held in three cities: Trondheim, Bergen and Oslo and consisted of table talks with representatives of local travel agencies and tour operators. The turnout was better than last year, when a significant number of companies were still working remotely. Visitors also seemed to have greater sales potential when it comes to Warsaw from – especially in Oslo, where we currently have the only direct flights with PLL LOT and Norwegian. Unfortunately, direct flights from Trondheim and Bergen are currently suspended. However, this does not matter much to tour operators who sell their programs throughout the country. However, the most popular Polish cities among Norwegians remain Gdańsk and Kraków, partly due to their more extensive network of connections.

This year's workshop was "hosted" by Estonia, which highlights the importance of nearby destinations for the holiday choices of Scandinavian travellers. The first season after the peak of the COVID pandemic was marked by exotic and southern destinations for Norwegians eager for long journeys. However, what came up in conversations with tour operators was the significantly rising prices of household energy bills, which seems to encourage customers to choose closer countries and cities with a better quality-to-price ratio.

To encourage participants to see the attractions of Warsaw in person, thanks to our members we donated a voucher for a stay in Oslo for a prize lottery. Hotel Metropol and entrance tickets to Fryderyk Chopin Museum. In September and October we will continue promotion on Scandinavian markets, including during V4 workshops in Oslo and Stockholm and PATA in Denmark.
