Visit of American agents from the American market
The trip of leading American agents from the American market (USA and Canada) was planned by LOT Polish Airlines to two cities: Poznań and Warsaw.
Guests' stay in Warsaw is short, so the sightseeing program includes the classic attractions of the Old Town.
This is another trip from the US and Canada, where participants have the opportunity to spend some time in the capital.
The American market is important in inbound tourism to many cities. The long stays and spending of Americans mean that many destinations are courting visitors from North America.
From the beginning of March 2020 until the end of 2020, tourist travel from the US to Poland was prohibited. The travel restriction had a significant impact on the American and Canadian industry, mainly in the area of employees - it is about job losses.
Neither Poland, nor Warsaw, is a priority choice for Americans when traveling abroad, which does not mean that arrivals from this market do not contribute to Warsaw's statistics.
The increase in arrivals to selected destinations occurs for various reasons, but one of the significant motives is direct air connections. Therefore, in the statistics, also in Warsaw, it can be seen that the increase occurs automatically after the launch of new connections; this happened when PLL LOT launched flights from Los Angeles (the USA with the number of arrivals at the level of 178,000 took fourth place in the statistics of arrivals to Warsaw). Currently, PLL LOT offers connections on the routes New York-Warsaw (Newark, JFK), Chicago-Warsaw and Miami-Warsaw and Los Angeles-Warsaw.
The renewed movement in the perspective of the coming years gives a chance for an increase in arrivals from this market and also a change in the segment of guests visiting our city. In addition to trips motivated by Leisure and MICE tourism, there will probably be visits from relatives and friends not only of the American Polonia, but also from Americans themselves, whose families have temporarily found themselves in Poland due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Therefore, the new challenge facing the industry is to prepare new offers for stays.
