You will hear extremely open and brave people during the next edition of the MADE FOR Restaurant conference, which will take place on April 20. These will be restaurateurs from all over Poland. A special place in the program will be devoted to supporting exceptional cities: the City of Gdynia and the City of Kraków – the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2019, for which gastronomy is an important part of tourism.
Restaurateurs will compete for the MADE FOR Restaurant business scholarship and the title of the real "FIGHTER 2021". The Professional Jury and the event participants will decide who will be the winner. However, it is not the competition and prizes that will be the focus, but the entrepreneurs presenting their successes and failures from the past year, which can help others in the industry develop or stay afloat. Participation in the conference is completely free of charge, but prior registration is required. registration. The event under the slogan "FIGHTERS" will take place online.
Participants will be welcomed by: Anna Korfel-Jasińska, Deputy Mayor of Krakow for Education, Sports and Tourism and Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała, Deputy Mayor of Gdynia for Economy. – Krakow is a city with huge potential. How is it in Gdynia? – The catering industry is extremely important for Gdynia. It is a very important element of the meetings industry, which the city has long focused on. Today, it is one of the industries that have been most affected by the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We admire restaurateurs for whom cooking is a life passion and a way of life for their tenacity in the fight against current challenges. The MADE FOR Restaurant 2021 conference, FIGHTERS edition is a collection of knowledge and experience of the TOP 20 Restaurateurs who, telling their stories of successes and failures during the pandemic, will present personal recipes for adaptation. Their names will be revealed daily on the conference website. In this way, the organizers want to emphasize that although only one restaurateur will ultimately receive the title of FIGHTER 2021, all distinguished deserve to be called winners for their daily hardships and struggle for survival.
Mutual reinforcement, inspiration and motivation are to give the HORECA industry the strength to fight in the coming months of the pandemic. – We are organizing this edition of the conference in tribute to those who successfully redefined their businesses and, even in a difficult market, saw an opportunity for development and change. - says Agnieszka Malkiewicz, conference organizer. – I invite you to attend the conference and take advantage of tips from those who can do it.
What else is on the agenda?
How has gastronomy changed since March 2020? How can we see development prospects in difficult conditions? What changes can we expect in the economy in the coming months? They will suggest, among others: Anna Czarczyńska from the Leon Koźmiński Academy, Marcin Mączyński from the Polish Hotel Industry Chamber of Commerce, Jarosław Uściński from the Polish Association of Chefs and Confectioners, owner of the Moonsfera restaurant in Warsaw and Agnieszka Małkiewicz from FOR Solutions, organizer of the MADE FOR Restaurant conference. We will also learn what actions the Polish government plans to take in the near future and whether the aid provided so far is a sham or a chance for rescue.
The online conference is also a compendium of practical advice on how to prepare for the restart, how to plan team work, how to adapt new menus and how to convince guests that restaurants are safe. The restaurateurs' presentations will be divided into 5 thematic blocks, after which experts, including: Hanna Wencka from Aviko HoReCa Polska, Andrzej Drus from Transgourmet, Selgros Cash&Carry, Marcin Wajda from Winterhalter and John Gabrovic from Stacja Food Hall and others, will provide business comments, pointing out possible development steps and solutions that can bring tangible results.
Conference participants will also learn about unique initiatives that support gastronomy during the pandemici. How does the international platform Save The Fork engage bloggers and influencers to help the food service industry? Małgorzata Czwarno from Save The Fork. Free event booking gives Participants the opportunity to return after April 20 to the recordings and post-conference materials, which will be available on the Meeting 15 conference platform until May 20, i.e. for one month after the event. In addition, participants will receive e-report being an extension of expert speeches on conducting business during the pandemic.
Who will receive the Made FOR Restaurant scholarship?
During the first stage of the competition for MADE FOR Restaurant Business Scholarship from many submitted surveys, the TOP 20 Restaurateurs were selected, whose presentations are an integral part of this year's editions of the conference. Describing their stories, premises and team before the pandemic, during lockdowns, during limited activity during the holidays and now, restaurateurs in the survey were asked to prove why they deserve the title of NEW INDUSTRY LEADERS. Then, from among the 20 best applications, the JURY consisting of the conference organizer - FOR Solutions, event partners, industry representatives and conference participants, will select the FIGHTER 2021. He will receive the title of the best Restaurateur of the Year, PLN 5,000 in cash and PLN 2,000 in shopping vouchers to Selgros Cash&Cerry stores, an annual subscription to the MojStolik.pl reservation system with a Lenovo tablet and marketing support for the restaurant. There can only be one winner, but the organizers have also provided special prizes. The main goal of the competition is to support mutual relations and help the catering industry in a difficult situation.
