WOT co-creates guidelines for the unfreezing of the meetings industry
On May 19, 2020, at the Palace of Culture and Science and online, a meeting of the Safe Event Council (of which WOT is a member) with the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, Mr. Paweł Rabiej, and Warsaw Councilor, Ms. Anna Auksel-Sekutowicz, took place, during which guidelines and procedures for unfreezing the Polish meetings industry were approved. These guidelines will be forwarded to the Ministry of Development with a request to implement them.
The aim of the meeting of the Safe Event Council with the Warsaw authorities was to develop a joint document (available here) describing procedures and recommendations for all types of events: corporate events, trade fairs, congresses and conferences, cultural or sports events and a number of other events. The document was developed based on the experience of international European and American organizations and consulted not only with many representatives of the entire industry, but also with experts in security, epidemiology and law, who supported the work of the Council with their experience and knowledge.
Warsaw is the first city in Poland to boast such a document, which was also prepared for the needs of other cities in Poland. The common slogan for Warsaw is: "Warsaw. The city of safe events". We would like this document and the guidelines contained therein to help Warsaw initiate the process of introducing these recommendations in all cities in Poland during the period of defrosting the MICE industry, which is of great importance to each city and creates several hundred thousand jobs nationwide.
