Warsaw Congress Ambassador Club is a project in which the Warsaw Convention Bureau WOT supports the local scientific community and industry associations in acquiring important, international events for Warsaw. The Warsaw Ambassador Club implements the assumptions of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program in the capital city, which is owned and run by Polish Tourist Organisation and Association "Congresses and Conferences in Poland".

The Warsaw Congress Ambassador Club carries out activities in three main areas, each of which is intended to ultimately increase the number of important international events acquired for Warsaw:

  1. Supporting representatives of the local scientific and industry community in preparing and promoting an attractive and professional offer of Warsaw for an international event.
  2. Organisation of networking and information meetings, during which Warsaw CvB provides ambassadors and potential congress ambassadors with information on the possible scope of support from the Warsaw Convention and its partners and shares substantive knowledge on the effective acquisition and professional implementation of congress events.
  3. Building and developing a network of stakeholders of Warsaw congress events, which includes:
  • Representatives of the local scientific community and industry associations – as potential congress organizers
  • Representatives of the Warsaw City Hall and other public institutions – as beneficiaries of the knowledge transfer taking place within the framework of the congresses and the positive economic impact of the events on the economy of the city and the country
  • Representatives of the Warsaw congress and tourism industry – as entities responsible for the logistical implementation of events in the capital.

Support

We trust the following support will help you in making your congress a success

We cordially invite both entities and individuals interested in receiving support for their initiative to acquire international congress and conference events in Warsaw to contact us. Here you will find the basic offer of support provided by the Warsaw Convention Bureau, together with its partners.

We acquire large congress events for the capital city within the framework of the triple helix concept (triple helix), which since the 1990s has described the model of development of innovative economies created by the so-called knowledge societies, in which science and intellectual capital play the main role. The concept triple helix assumes that the innovation of a knowledge-based economy is the result of close cooperation between three sectors: the science centre, the business world and representatives of the government or local government. The model of this dynamic relationship, although obviously complex in theory, comes down to a simple principle: science centres (universities, research institutes, etc.) have the greatest innovation potential within the research they conduct; the business world (from international corporations to local start-ups) has, in turn, a natural motivation and financial resources to implement these innovations within new products and services (building a competitive advantage and increasing profitability). This mutually complementary relationship between the science and business worlds is in turn beneficial for public administration (development of a modern, free-market economy), and therefore it supports this cooperation at various levels – from legislation to subsidies and support programmes.

The triple helix model finds its practical application in the synergistic work of stakeholders from the three aforementioned sectors on acquiring international congresses for destinations. These events are one of the basic tools within which knowledge transfer takes place, which determines the emergence of innovation (the world of science), increases the possibility of its product implementation (local and international business world) and allows for embedding these solutions within the local economy (administration). The role of the convention bureau is to appropriately stimulate the cooperation of these stakeholders and to take care of the preparation and promotion of the city's attractive offer for the congress competition of destinations. Within the framework of such a model, Warsaw CvB works with the local world of science, business and administration. Additionally, in order to increase the effectiveness of its activities (acquiring events) and to work for the development of the local economy, the Warsaw Convention Bureau selects priority events for acquisition using, among others, the guidelines of the Warsaw City Office, which define the key sectors of the Warsaw economy. One of such directional documents is the "Diagnosis of the potential of SMEs from the Warsaw Functional Area in terms of internationalization" (Warsaw, 2017). A short version of this document is available here.
